I repaired mine about 2 or 3 times over the 15 years I've owned it. I broke the tension inside as it's plastic but managed each time fix it myself and get it to work again. Use it a lot with various stables.

Because this tool is specifically a 3/8-inch crown stapler (similar to a heavy-duty manual staple gun but cordless/powered), it is excellent for jobs where you need to fasten thin materials to wood without the physical effort of a manual hand-squeezer.
Upholstery & Fabric: This is its primary strength. It is ideal for attaching fabric to wooden furniture frames, recovering dining chair seats, or stretching canvas over frames. Because it's cordless, you don't have to worry about an air hose dragging across your fabric or upholstery.
Insulation & Vapor Barriers: If you are ever doing any insulation work (e.g., in a basement or garage), it makes stapling up insulation batts or plastic vapor barriers incredibly fast.
Screen Repair: It's great for attaching window or door screening to wooden frames.
Thin Trim or Light Crafting: While it's not a nailer, it works well for attaching thin materials like cardboard backing to picture frames, attaching lattice, or securing thin wood veneers/trim where a brad nail might be overkill or split the wood.
General Household Repairs: It replaces the old-fashioned "jammy" manual staple guns for light-duty home repairs where you need a quick, reliable hold on light materials.
Key constraint to keep in mind: It does not provide the holding power of a screw or a finish nail. It is strictly for fastening "soft" or "thin" materials to wood. Because it uses crown staples, it leaves two small, visible pinholes next to each other, which is something to consider if you are working on a finished, stain-grade wood surface.
EDIT: I can't imagine why this appropriate, relevant comment got TD. SMH…
