Deal doesn't make sense, I see laptops with newer processors and GPUs at the ~$500 range, only shortcoming is they have 8gb ram.

No I haven't. This is a good deal and a Costco was posted I don't recall $650? I got a Samsclub at $680. Those two were model lines above this eg Better screen and quality. Yeah Open box which is huge ymmv on quality is the only way to drop into $450 I think now. I wonder if BB will let you look at it first. I keep buying it online then getting a bad surprise. I'd consider if a chromebook will suffice. Then half the memory will work great. I got the $199 on SD and quite like it for a super cheap lappy. Main thing to watch for is if you have a printer 50 50 it won't work on chromebook. I prefer Brother laser printers now. My canons mostly won't be compatible.

But would I spend $500 on an excellent or $443 on fair condition. Me, not really I'd get new instead but this cpu thread is not so fast for windows. OK in a chromebook. The linked is fast but a 4yr old model cpu. Late last year I got what you said for $300 at Walmart but because of memory shortage those days are gone until China increases it's supply.
