GameStop [gamestop.com] is running their "Stop Beating It" defective controller trade-in promo - trade in a broken controller (stick drift, etc.) and get the
same trade credit as a fully working one, normally a $10-15 refurbishment deduction.
How it works:- Bring your defective controller in-store, they'll test it
- If it qualifies as defective (not dead/unresponsive), you get full working-condition trade value instead of the reduced defective rate
- In-store only, no online trade-ins for this promo
Terms & exclusions:- Valid through 8/15/26
- Only applies to controllers GameStop normally accepts in trade as defective — a fully dead/unresponsive controller likely won't qualify
- No retro or third-party controllers — first-party PS5/Xbox/Switch controllers only
- Product condition and trade value are determined at GameStop's discretion — get it evaluated in-store before assuming a specific value
- All trades are final, no dealers

It's linked in the thread. It's "up to" but that's the best we can find online at least.
