I know they're having some controversies.... you'll have to look up how to block the software from your network/pc from downloading.

They already stopped the whole Mcafee thing anyways as per Microsoft's "request" because shit flows downhill and people were already putting it together this is a MS flaw/problem more so than LG

I've never had any issues personally with that. Though the other day they did mark that I picked it up even though I asked them not to on a soundbar set that was missing the sub and rears. I then had to return it even though it never left the shelf :| Still annoyed about it.

This was the best monitor panel like a couple years ago for competitive gaming. Single player games with high quality graphics can't push 480 fps so it would be a waste to get this for that. You'd probably also want a 4k monitor instead of 1440p so you can enjoy the graphics better. But for games like Counter Strike, Fortnite, Overwatch this is one of the best. ASUS used the same panel in one of their monitors (weird thing monitor manufacturers do, let other companies use them. LG created the panel in this monitor), but they had a glossy coating. Some people swear by glossy, others claim there's not much of a difference between glossy and matte.

Long story short, if you're into competitive games and want great motion clarity and good colors then get this. If you don't mind sacrificing color quality you can go with a G SYNC Pulsar display with IPS instead of OLED for even better motion clarity, but it will have worse color depth. You also don't have to hit 480 fps to get the best motion clarity with those, just hit whatever those are capable of and the technology will make it look smoother than OLED monitors at that same fps. Keep in mind those are only compatible with Nvidia graphics cards. AMD GPU desktops can use Zowie and some other monitors with backlight strobing, but OLEDs can't do backlight strobing, only panels that have worse quality colors (some very bad, like Zowie). If you like single player gaming like Cyberpunk, The Witcher, Diablo, then a 4k 240 fps OLED monitor would be better. You don't have to get 240 fps for that, but it is a bit more enjoyable. Check if your graphics card can reach that for the graphics settings you want to use. You will need a graphics card capable of frame generation technology most likely, unless the game is older.

You can run older games at this refresh rate. If you have some frame gen as well, you can really push the limits.

I just went to purchase this exact monitor at bestbuy, to which I asked them to take it out of the box and show it to me. It was very clear it was a display unit so I asked them to show me it plugged in, and then looked at the display time. It had 10k hours on it lol, even after they lied to me saying it was a display unit for only a month. With that, i returned it on the spot and went to another bestbuy and bought the same exact condition but that it was brand new with 3 hours on it. Do your due diligence and ask them to unbox it in front of you.

Mine had screen burn in. I did the image refresh and it got rid of like 99% of it, but knowing that I'm still returning it. Mine was either a display model or a trade in of some sort. And now that the price increased about $50 I really wouldn't recommend it when the brand new ones are going for $600. Treat open box or used OLED monitors like used laptops. Power on time on monitors matters just as much as disk health and battery health on laptops.
