I just started using this. Its a significant upgrade from most any others out there. Higher resolution. Loads fast. Responsive. Its night and day having more ram. Worth every penny, I sadly just paid so much more, I should return/ rebuy.

If I don't have an unlimited phone hotspot, asides from AirPlaying content, is it still worth getting this? I have a wireless adapter for my CarPlay already, just trying to see if it's worth getting this for dedicated video, but I only have 5gb of hotspot so not sure it's worth it.

Is there a lot of lag with the video and the sound that comes out of this adapter?

Can this connect to wireless CarPlay (car doesn't have wired) and give pseudo Android Auto(play store etc) on car screen? I don't think it does, but testing my luck.

No, your car has to support wired CarPlay for this.

I believe my car has both wireless and wired CarPlay as when I plug in the wired version it seems to pull from the phone over the wireless connection.

I'm wondering if I could use the wired connection for my CarPlay since the wireless collection is so laggy and slow and does not have apps
