This is fake passion fruit. Real passion fruit cost around $12-$18 per pound or even more. Inside each fruit, you can scoop out about a tablespoon or two, depending on the fruit size, of the edible part. It takes 20 or more fruits to get a pound of the edible part. So for a pound freeze dried, you need maybe 50 fruits or more.

I think you're assuming these are grown here versus somewhere around the world where they can go for less than $.50 per pound. I am not saying this is not full of some kind of filler--just that $12-$18 per pound is not an accurate price in all areas. Being dried this could absolutely be slow shipped from around the world.

The brand is from China, you're seriously underestimating how cheap fruit can be there because of how vast the production is, not to mention cheap labour.
