I'm about 10 months into owning an Oral-b iO (I was lured in by the lower prices and the fact that my Sonicares have always had the battery die after like a year and a half.)
I hate the Oral B with a passion. I don't care if the Sonicares die after 1.5-2 years or that the heads are more expensive any more. I pray for the Oral B to die every time I use it.

Independent medical reviews, including a major meta-analysis published in the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA), found that oscillating-rotating brushes provide statistically superior results for whole-mouth plaque reduction compared to sonic brushes.
