Agreed. The only difference is that I typically choose eBay gift cards as CB rewards, so it can be more cost effective to buy through eBay.

Call a tag outlet and ask for prices on discounted watches (out of production) and you get the warranty and a price that beats jomashop or watch Maxx.

Question....I always am concerned about premium brand watches off ebay. There are too many fakes and I have seen a lot of Tags that seem too good to be true. Then you have to wonder if they are all just replicas. Has anyone run into this kind of issue?

Over $2k ebay requires that it passes through their authenticator, I think. I bought a Rolex that went through that process.

Not all authentication is the same, of course, and so there are always issues around provenance and trust. But it is something.

I did buy a fake, a very good replica Aquaracer Pro 300. Got called out quickly when posing a pic on reddit due to lume color difference. We then picked it apart and the other telltale was the way the second hand pinion had a slight mushroom. Got my money back via INAD.

Bottom line is basically you will have to pay for a fine watch no matter what, and if it's an unusually low price it's a fake. There's too many knowledgeable people looking to make money.

edit: the way they make the buyer believe it's real is via cloned serial nos and warranty card numbers (matched at original purchase of real deal) that pass muster on tag's website. it seems Tag does not enforce a rule where one must deregister a watch before it can be registered & registration requires both numbers.

I bought a legit one from a tag boutique after all this bullshit, with a legit five year warranty.
