As a massive ST:TNG fan, these movies were mediocre, and more than 20 years after the last one came out, I just don't see a need to see any deals of any kind to purchase these movies at this point. If somebody hasn't bought them yet, they never will. That's nothing against the OP, but I guess I do have a problem with this being considered a Front Page Deal.
FWIW:
-My nerdiness does not have an expiration date. Probably the opposite since I seem to be leaning more into nostalgia at this point. I'd imagine that is a very common trend with people of a similar age who would even care about STTNG.
-$2 per physical movie is a solid deal
-Front page status is driven by clicks and views (not to mention...comments like yours)...so it appears you are in the minority. Oh and this deal has 2700 views and 31 (net) upvotes.
P.S. The Stardate Collection would be a decent deal as well, all 9 canon movies (plus whatever V was) for $18.

Honestly, what would be the functional point of making them Bluray? It would just cost more for all involved.

Like when Disney did Snow White, they digitized and restored it in 16k (which was an unthinkably high resolution back 30 years ago).
So they did not have to do any additional labor for the 1080p or 4K releases, and presumably the 8K and 16K releases of the future.

Not to mention, animation and actual video are entirely different beasts and Disney really pounded their chest about that Snow White remaster while many Bluray rereleases (not remasters) are still in their original format and resolution. They simply copied the same video to a different media format. If I take a 480p video and burn it to a Bluray disc....does that mean the video is now in 4K?!? Magic!!!!!!!
P.S. That wasn't "unthinkably high resolution"....see Ben Hur 1959. That was roughly 8K.
You seem to be conflating a lot of topics. Disc formats magically upscaling themselves, digital pixels vs actual "resolution" etc. Clearly this ain't your topic. Lot has changed in vids since 1900
