I went on to build a Voron Trident, and haven't looked back. No vendor lock-in, coupled with having complete control over the printer with no manufacturer software lockout BS is a beautiful combination.
Oh, and you can still print PETG without worrying about fumes, that is mostly a concern with ABS.

Anyway, I found my FF 5M to be more likeable than my K1 mostly because it was easier to change the material. However, having watched the early K1 reviews I make sure to not open the door past 100* for fear of shattering the glass. I've thought about doing some aftermarket/3D print hinges so the door can open 180*.
