Got one of these last time. It turned out to be one that had been replaced under warranty and was nonfunctional (i.e., someone bought the pencil, it didn't work or they broke it, they contacted Apple for a replacement under warranty, got the replacement, and then returned the nonfunctional one to Amazon for a refund). I know that is likely a rare issue, but I suggest checking it out sooner rather than later if you purchase one so you can return it within the window for returns.

Man, I missed the 20% off coupon part initially and thought this was $61. Total came out a little below $49, sweet deal! Also a side note: AppleCare+ on an iPad includes coverage for one Apple Pencil and Magic KeyBoard folio each.

That's for the reminder. I got one last time and it's sitting in a drawer, barely tested it. 12 days left to make sure it has no quirks

Bought one last time, works great but had the same thought about AppleCare and read their policy. Used pencils have no warranty and supposedly you have to call in and get the pencil added and can't because you don't have a receipt that would say it's new. Is this not the case?
