this is a 9950x ($650 cpu) competitor in pro work, and now games VERY well.
I get it, latest and greatest GPU. Some buy and resell every release, which is every few years. Even at this rate, AM5 will be gone before your next GPU.
For those who only replace the GPU, and not the rest, which makes much more sense. The CPU will last you a couple GPU replacements, easily. In what world does an intel ultra bottleneck a GPU before AM5 is replaced?
I don't know, maybe I "just don't get it". I may even be biased.
Nothing was getting in my way when I paid $200 for a 265K. Thanks to everyone else crying dead platform lol. Hope it keeps up until my next upgrade.

If this is for a strictly high end gaming computer, the 9800x3d smokes any Intel, especially with 5080 or higher where the GPU is not the bottleneck.

Loving the performance of this CPU so far. It's rocking the benchmarks, and for the multi-core work that I do (software dev, AI stuff) I can feel the difference.

Total $650. I added a second set of 32GB sticks. Surprisingly all 4 work at the rated speed and pass memtests.
