I got one of these to bring on a cruise to play games with my kids at dinner and to double as an e-reader. It worked fine for that purpose. No complaints. Having the case included was nice. I have a lenovo idea tab that I use for more intensive stuff and when I want a larger screen.

My only issue is that you can get so much more for about the same price... $112ish. Could not justify getting this Lenovo due to how slow it is, that is my only issue. For less then $25 you actually get a usable tablet.

Can you give examples of better buys?

The best bang for the buck right now is this IMHO...
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...in_prod%3A

G99 / 8GB of RAM / 128GB hard drive. And when you use it make sure your "extended RAM" is turned off... that is when they use your harddrive as RAM but your harddrive is like 25 times slower then the RAM speed so it just slows you down and 8GB of RAM should be enough.

Before Trump Tarriffs, there were many choices... but either they are all sold out and AI has caused RAM prices to jump and the tariffs just caused everything else to jump, where things are much more expensive today then 1.5 years ago.

Here is a 11"

The companies I like are Alldocube, Teclast, Lincplus and others such as Lenovo, Google Pixel, Oneplus and there are other such as redmagic. The REAL LIST, the LIST OF tablets I now stay away from are Samsung and Amazon.

I go by specs and price. If you are in this thread then you are looking for the CHEAPEST... and I say try to get a G99 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB hard drive as the bare minimum. You can go to Amazon and search G99 tablets but realize that some of them have a lot of bloatware and even spyware... so if you can not tell who makes it, don't buy it and ask AI (gemini or chatgpt) if that model has any bloatware or is it almost stock OS. You want a Stock OS of course. Lastly, make sure you spell the company correctly and that AI uses the exact spelling... some unethical tablets use similar names of name brands.

Specs on that look nice but honestly I wouldn't trust non name brand Chinese tablets.

I realize Lenovo is t out top notch ram/emmc storage in theirs but I would trust it's a little better quality and implementation than a no name tablet.
Heck, even a Fire tablet with an OLD trade in can usually be bought for cheap. I have a Fire 10 HD I purchased for my daughter about 4-5 years ago and it's still running strong. Plays Netflix and some free games just fine, which is what she uses it for.
FYI: it's just a silly pet peeve of mine..then and than. If you are comparing 2 items it's "than" it you are talking time or order, it's then. I purchased a Lenovo tablet then I purchased an iPad or: I would much rather purchase an iPad than a Lenovo tablet. I hate grammar police but I saw the mistake a few times.

I know it is hard to believe but these Chinese tablets are much safer then a Samsung that gets updates... just look at the last year and Samsung devices have had vulnerabilities that these Chinese tablets never had even if they stop updating.

To me, the safest tablets is one that is very close to stock Android and you can use a firewall.

This specific Lenovo tablet is trash.. really, just WAY WAY too slow and too little RAM. And Teclast and Lincplus are not no name brands. They are just brands you have not hear of. I personally trust Teclast an Lincplus more then Samsung and even more then Lenovo. And I honestly feel I would have a safer tablet to use.

Samsung... has so many security issues due to their one UI... I would stay far away from them. If you are worried about security.

Buying a G85 CPU in 2026 is stupid... IMHO. It is just too slow, like really way too slow.

Back on sale now. Will use this as a NBA LP streaming device because the battery is swelling pretty bad on my 5 year old phone that used to occupy this role. Don't want it to explode in my face. It is weird that this tablet has a worse processor than my old budget phone though.
