Not a deal! Price history shows it has maintained $129 since Nov 29. This, at best, would be a decent retail price. Also, these type of cases suck to get the drawers out and back in if you're constantly using the kit

This could be a nice set, but they give no list of what the kit actually contains. Just trying to look at the picture it shows that there is approximately 60 just screwdriver bits. Approximately 30 hex key bits and over 20 hex sockets all used as filler to bring the tool count up.

It's an "alright deal." My friend has this kit, and it's nice that the ratchets are low-profile, and they include small wrenches, which come in handy. Fair amount of fluff on the bits. Not a steal by any means, but if you aren't willing to shell out more for higher-end starter kits or piece together stuff at HF, Tekton, Gear Wrench, etc, it's not bad. In terms of quality and usability, I'd choose this over the Kobalt (what I bought for a starter kit). All my local Lowe's stores make RMA so miserable that I could never recommend Kobalt or Craftsman.

You know. I recently started to give Lowe's a chance and anytime I've had a problem, especially with power tools, it's been shockingly bad. I had a craftsman rep call and chastise my Lowe's GM to refusing to refund/exchange a defective string trimmer kit. The manager was fuming and the rep gave me her name and number, along with a call back number to report if they continued to refuse to help me. Craftsman made it clear Lowes is under obligation to honor craftsman warranty regardless if they sold it as "clearance". Good service from craftsman. Horrible look for Lowe's seeing the two companies clash over the phone.

Lowes is getting sued at this moment for deceptive sales pricing tactics. This sounds like one of the examples laid out in their court filing. They claim items are under discount when price data shows the item at consistently the same price.

I've bought a couple of these for $99 about all they are worth IMO. If you need now it's decent enough at $129 otherwise I'd wait or look elsewhere. The recent $98 DeWalt set destroys it by far. But it's dead now and likely won't be that price again for a long time

Yup. For that reason alone I just can't recommend them personally. It's the same thing with me but with hand tools. First, there was no receipt. After my first battle with them and having them look up my CC number, I got the receipt and put it in a safe location. The next time "you need to return the entire kit", I bring the whole kit, missing a few bits and extensions, "the kit is incomplete, we can't do it." Then the last one, "they no longer make this model ratchet you need to contact Kobalt." I'm done with Lowe's permanently for any type of tools.

Even if the Kobalt or Craftsman is better than Pittsburgh or Husky, I'll go with HF or Home Depot honestly. I hate having to battle with customer service and managers, and being treated like I'm gaming the system or something. It's crazy how personally they take tool RMA.
