Oh and my bill for the hospital stay will probably be $50,000.

Here are 4 quick Netflix reviews. THE SERPENT is excellent even with all of the time shifts. Just when you settle into the story, it jumps to 4 years earlier. Why does it do this? I have no idea other than to be artsy. Even with this, it's a don't miss show. Jenna Coleman as Marie is amazing but everybody in THE SERPENT is top-of-the-line. It's set in the 1970s. A couple travels the world and survives by killing hippie couples and stealing their money and passports. It's based on a true story. So is THE ASUNTA CASE but this show is a total mess. Bad script, bad acting, and a huge plot hole. The casting of the wife was a huge mistake. She was totally unbelievable in her role. This couple will go down in history as two of the worst people who ever lived. They want to rekindle their failing marriage by killing their 12 yr old adopted child so they can be free. They're worse than I'm making it sound. Don't watch this. THE RECRUIT wasn't my cup of tea but if you like THE NIGHT AGENT you'll also like this. The lead actor is good and there's non-stop action but the roommates aren't needed and it's too formula tv for my taste. I'm not really into action shows so I quit during the 2nd episode. The worst show of the bunch was HIS & HERS. It's a psychological thriller that turned into a total mess with everybody winding up dead in a bathtub. I'm sorry that I stuck with this for as long as I did. The end of Episode 5 was so bad that I had to stop watching. I don't know what happened after that and I don't care. However, the actress who played the deputy was really good and I'd like to see her in something better. Her role in this was to get yelled at by the sheriff. I think the show was supposed to be empowering for women but it set the movement back 20 years.

Speaking of Netflix, has anyone else enjoyed watching any of the series based on novels from Harlan Coban?

If so, I just finished listening to this interview with Coban that you may find interesting.

Raises hand! I just finished "I Will Find You" over the weekend and started "Safe" last night. If the person who suggested "I Will Find You" to me had mentioned it's based on Coben's book, I probably would have gotten around to watching it a lot sooner laugh out loud since I've enjoyed every book of his that I've read.

I believe there are 13 total so far and when I searched Netflix, the results were categorized as Harlan Coben Collection which made it easy to add them all to my watch list.

I also have a list of 13 that are on Netflix. The only one I haven't watched yet is Run Away. Somehow I missed that one.

The other book made into a series is Final Twist and I believe it's viewable on Paramount +. I have not watched that yet either.

I think I've seen an episode or 2 of that on network TV and I didn't care for that as much as I've liked his stuff on Netflix.

Sorry, I wish I could say that I like Harlan Coben but I can't stand his tv adaptations.

The fact that there are so many things to watch is what make all the streaming services both a good thing and a bad thing imo - good thing because hopefully there's something for everyone to like and enjoy watching, bad thing because one often needs to weed through a whole lot of what they don't enjoy or like watching to find the stuff they do, lol.

I'm sorry, I was in a really bad mood last night (and I still am). I had a meeting with Medi-Cal on Tuesday and my caseworker spoke very little English. She made a huge mistake on my application (because she didn't understand what I was saying) which caused my request to be denied. Unfortunately, once the field office makes a determination they can't change it so I have to request a fair hearing with a judge. The judge has the power to overturn the Medi-Cal office's decision but he'll likely go with what they said even though it's wrong. I had another heart attack 2 weeks ago and my heart rate has been jumping to over 190 on telemetry. I can't get any treatment at the hospital because of my insurance situation. They'll do tests and then send me home and tell me to get treatment as an outpatient (which I can't do because of my insurance). It will take 3 months for my case to be heard by the judge but I might not have that long without any treatment.

I'm really picky when it comes to crime fiction. Harlan Coben is a good author but I haven't liked his Netflix tv shows. I'm definitely in the minority because his shows always wind up on a Best of Netflix list. My objection to Netflix is that they have so much stuff that is very poor quality. In THE ASUNTA CASE, the girl's t-shirt had sperm on it from a rapist who lived in a different city. They totally forgot about it after the 2nd episode but any theory of the murder has to take it into account. Then there was the wife's voice over. It was horrible. None of this should've got past the editing room floor. Netflix puts out a lot of stuff but doesn't care about the quality and I waste too much time on junk. To make it worse, they have fake listings for shows I want to see. COLLATERAL has been highly recommended to me but when I clicked on it, it said not available and tried to direct me to other shows. If you can handle subtitles, GIRI HAJI is one of the best things on Netflix. THE JOURNALIST is another Japanese series that's outstanding (no subtitles).

You have nothing to be sorry about. We all like different things. And when it comes to TV watching, that's way down on my list of whether someone else likes what I do or not. Heck, even my husband and I don't like watching a lot of the same stuff. Can you imagine how boring it would be if everyone liked the same thing.

Your situation with Medi-Cal sounds like a real mess. Just thinking here, but is there any kind of emergency process to get a hearing with a judge sooner? Then again, everyone would probably think their situation was an emergency. Sorry for all your problems.

Our nation's health care is awful imo. Someone else on here mentioned they tend to stock pile their meds. I do too - I order refills as soon as possible often getting 90-day supplies every 60 days or so. Thank goodness I do since I'm currently dealing with a drug that no pharmacy seems able to get from the manufacturer and there is no indication of when it will be available. Thankfully, I have a several months supply. Not sure what happens if it's still not available when my supply runs out. I've been taking it for over 15 years and I'd rather not have to switch and deal with possible new side effects. Ugh!

I can't get to HICAP for 2 weeks because I need a ride. It would be really hard to get there by bus. I can ask for a quicker hearing. My main concern is that I have to win. I don't want to think about what happens if I lose. I stockpile meds, too, because it's so hard to get refills from hospital doctors. The doctors switch around my meds a lot so I can take a new drug once, have a bad reaction, the doctor will take me off of it, and there goes $300 down the drain.

I'd say to skip The Bombing of Pan Am 103 on Netflix. It goes on way too long and everybody has bad hair especially the Scottish guy. Merritt Weaver is a great actress but her character is so over the top. Mike Ross shouldn't have felt guilty for doing his job which is to find the bad guys and bring them to justice and he did except the court screwed up. I would've given them the death penalty by the most brutal way possible and then hung up their naked bodies for public display. 270 people died and the guy gets 20 years in prison and the other guy goes free. I don't know what it is but it's sure as hell not justice.

After watching Dakota's fight tonight, I don't think she's as good as I thought she was. It didn't look like she has much of a ground game and she would get destroyed by Valentina and Alexa. I hate to say this because I really want Dakota to come into the UFC and kick ass.
