I didn't do too well. I ended the session at down $100. I shouldn't have played at all because I let my emotions (wanting to come back here with a win) guide my play. This is why I only play for fun and not for money.

I checked and copilot has been involved in gambling fraud. That's pretty wild for something that you're supposed to go to for advice.

The funny thing was using copilot to see if copilot was cheating. It's a scary thing to turn the world over to machines.

I think about this every time I see a Waymo here on the road in Austin, which is pretty much every day I go somewhere.

I played craps with copilot again. Even though it's an even bet with the house and we're not playing for real money, 10x odds on 4 and 10 don't pass is too rich for my blood. I went back to 2x odds and I felt a lot more comfortable. I won back the $100 that I lost on Sunday and then I quit for the session. I've had 5 sessions with copilot so far. I won on the 4 sessions that I played 2x odds and lost on the session that I played 10x odds. I'm up around $300 for the 5 sessions. Ultimately, you lose at craps because the house always has the edge but in the short term you can get hot, hit your goal, and walk away. As long as it's for fun with no real money involved, it's a learning experience.

Anyone doing anything special? Not much going on around here - very quiet. I guess it's even too hot for those that usually set off fireworks, etc., to do so?

Isn't Kroger big enough? They shut down the Kroger/ Albertsons merger a couple of years ago and I hope they do the same for you. Grocery store mergers are not good for the consumer. They create less competition and prices go up.

I was in the hospital since Wednesday morning and I got back home an hour ago. They don't want to do surgery on me although I really need it. I think I'll stay inside tonight and watch a movie or something.

Glad to hear you're back home. I've been out of sorts since I got sick in early April. I don't think the doctors really know what to do with us older folks so we just go on best as we can.

In my case, they've gone the route of prescribing opioids instead of doing the surgery I need. Every doctor and hospital wants to pass me off as somebody else's problem and they figure if they get me stoned enough I won't care.

And round and round it goes - different doctor, different meds, trying to deal with insurance companies and pharmacy benefit managers - it's frustrating and all most seem to care about is that they get their pay checks at the end of the day. Medicine sure seems different than it used to be or maybe it's just me and I've gotten more cynical. Who knows? I seem to know less and less the older I get.

I got an email from the head of Social Security where he bragged about the good job he's doing. All I can say to that is he's out of his blanking mind. Try being me and getting medical care. I don't know how Medicare could be any worse. I had great insurance when I was on Blue Shield but they forced me to cancel it when I went on Social Security. Medicare has been an absolute disaster and I'm finding out that there's nothing I can do about it. I've tried for 2 years and got nowhere.
