got this from eBay this month. pretty good for charging multiple devices. But now I got too many cables hanging from my night stand. earlier these cables reached the night stand, but now they start at night stand.

one thing I don't understand with these are that, when using a cable that shows watts with this, my laptop will be charging at 25 watts. But if I plug in a 25 watt power adapter to laptop, it won't charge. Not exactly a topic for this item but it's related and I was wondering if someone wise can explain.

Devices generally pull however much power they need at any given time. While your laptop might support higher watts, it may only need to pull less due to how full your battery is.

This charger and many other high wattage chargers in the market have a feature called USB Power Delivery (PD), which allows the charger to change the amount of voltage it supplies to the device based on the request of the device. Your laptop typically charges at a voltage of ~20V.Assuming the power formula "Power (W) = Voltage (V) * Current (A)", the anker charger is probably supplying (20V)(1.25A). For you old adapter (probably a phone charger) they are designed for lower, fixed voltage (5V to 12V), but can still output a higher amount of current (2-3A). The mismatch in voltage between your laptop and adapter is what prevents your laptop from charging off it. The laptop is smart enough to see the low-voltage of the adapter and tell itself to "not charge" from it.

Is it powered by a usbc cable? Since we're seeing all these 240w cables/chargers, it'd make sense. If not, I'll wait till such a thing exists lol

I'm hoping that you're joking, cause where is that 240w of power coming from? is it not a 240w+ "usbc" powersupply? kinda like this one... but if that 2nd powersupply is powered off a usb-C cable too, thats gonna need a 3rd usb-C powersupply. see what i mean?
