Good set/size for the price. If I was in the market for a new TV this would be it but as it stands I have no real reason to replace my 82" LG VA 120hz.

The main difference between this and the QM8 (their top of the line) are the speakers. The displays are going to be identical. If you are using a sound bar or sound system, stick with the QM7. The speakers on the QM8 are amazing though, better than most cheap sound bars.
Really?!?! Because this is what Rtings.com said about them compared:
.
"The TCL QM8/QM851G QLED is better than the TCL QM7/QM751G QLED. With a few exceptions, notably viewing angle and PQ EOTF tracking, the QM8 does everything better than the QM7. The QM8 is noticeably brighter in HDR and SDR, has better contrast, and is more accurate in SDR prior to calibration. It also has much better reflection handling than the QM7, making it a far better option if you like to watch TV in extremely bright rooms. Overall, the 2024 QM8 is a noticeable upgrade over the QM7."
.
Their overall rating gave the QM7 8.1 vs the QM8 8.5, which is a significant difference.
.
For the price I would still go with this one today, but if they were in a similar range, the QM8 is clearly better.

Maaaaan, it got so bad I actually had to bench him in fantasy. That was unfathomable before this season. I guess they all fall off eventually.
On topic: soon your whole wall will be a tv for $1200.

I had my tv die today. I've been looking at qm7 as a cost effective option for 85". Seems to get great reviews from everyone, but I see the qm8 was on sale 5 months ago for the same price. Worth waiting to see if things drop in January?

I had one and returned it. The qm7 in my opinion just doesnt have good clarity and has an unclear grainy picture. Huhe disappointment. It kills according to Rtings and has numbers....they just forgot to provide a good picture along with all those nits. If price.is keeping you from buying a Samsung or Sony miniled....buy one of their higher end regular leds....you'll be better off

I'm definitely set on qm7; I've seen it in person and think it looked great. I ended up pulling the trigger on the 85" for $1400 and will wait until next year in hopes the 98" prices come down some.

I have the 75" qm7 and it's fantastic for the money. Got it on sale at BB for $899.

Well I spent a week with the qm7 and I found it mediocre. The picture was not as clean as my 7 year old Samsung mu8500. Now one thing I forgot to mention that I watched a lot of 720p and 1080p content on it because I like Tubi, Pluto, and refuse to pay for 4k on Netflix. For 4k I watched YouTube, Apple+ and Prime. The upscaling was not good. Constantly had to readjust the picture for different apps. Never thought faces looked quite right. Yes there are some dazzling scenes in 4k. But there is also a grainy quality in many 4k scenes too. There store demo looks great and if all you watch are cans of paint or silver golf clubs against a black background then yeah it a great tv. Otherwise TCL still has a long way to catch up to the refinement of a Samsung and probably Sony and LG.

I bought a 85 inch Samsung qn85c for $1300 before Christmas. No regrets.

What do you think between this and an x900h same size?
