Ok, oracles of slickdeals. This or the sawzall fuel on sale for 20 bucks more? Is there a significant difference in cutting power and speed? Hackzall form factor is great and light weight, not sure the tradeoff

FUEL Hackzall to give you some headroom for tougher cuts. I did the hack to get the tool only and it was like 87 bucks. If you already have M18 batteries that is the way to go in my opinion. As far as the tool, awesome. I bought a 6" Diablo pruning blade and able to cut thick limbs like butter.

I've been doing some reading around online and people that have both say the full size sawzall sits unised for 99% of the time due to the great ease of use and form factor of the hackzall. They are saying if you do full time demo work then the sawzall is the way to go as it has more power and longer stroke.
I have the non fuel hackzall and agree, love it for limbing, looking at these for a gift for my dad.

I misread his post. I meant to recommend the M18 Fuel Hackzall. I agree, Sawzall is far too bulky for most home owners.

Me personally, I prefer the non-Fuel version of this simply because I found the Fuel version a little too bulky for me for close in the crawlspace work... and it was heavier and a pain to drag around to went back to the non-Fuel. Everything else I have is Fuel.. except this..

I'm not sure if I did the hack right? I placed an order for delivery to my home I just received the tool and battery today, I went to home depot to return the battery and they said I need to return both the tool and the battery. How did you do it?

I did pickup and set the tool and battery to go to different stores. Never picked up the battery. They cancelled that part of the order after a week (can take longer, sometimes 30 days).
