Another nice benefit is he can pick up a regular guitar at a friend's house or studio and play it, as opposed to having to look around for a lefty. Plus lefty guitars / basses can be harder to sell and get what you want for it because the market is smaller. So if anyone has a little kid that is a lefty and interested in guitar, consider starting them on a righty.
