Produce in general. However, the smaller stores I've been to that didn't get an update yet any greens in warm temperatures will not be very good.
The problem I've encountered a lot with Lidl is that they run out of stuff on sale very quickly. If you go there in the evening you are out of luck.
As to the sales at Lidl- The circular usually is available for the next week on Weds before which is day their weekly sales begin. I have found that since they run themes like German week or Italian and highlight products for those places they often , at my local NYC store, dont have all those items in stock at all during the promo. Plus as mentioned some items are quickly gone either from low inventory or snatched up by others. In their circular many items state while supplies last. Of course no rainchecks at all and no coupons.
My take on Lidl is it is good for somethings because they run cheaper than SR and SNS such as half and half and some produce but I usually shops the specials in circular.
They have very decent frozen flounder 4.39 for 1 lb bag.They run specials as low as 3.39 for that same bag over time. Those are the times we stock up on it. Basically like SR and SnS every week youll find some things worth buying plus you need to load their app on your phone for targeted specials and coupons like 5 dollars off 20 spent which we got a few weeks ago.
Also expect not much in the way of customer service apart from at the moment at the register when a price is wrongly rung up. I actually was hassled the 1st weeks of the store opening and called their customer service ph number in VA I believe. Someone called me back and apologized and sent me a 25 dollar GC. The following visit I see the same ldy which caused my call to CS and mentioned my call to them and she said they always send a GC to people complaining about something

I will say this about part-time employee attitudes.... it's a combination of three items....poor leadership/coaching from management, the fact that corporations really do not alot any time for customer interactions into computer controlled schedules (They are all based on sales graphs and task time allotments, customer service is only based on time to ring you out)... and finally the fact you get what you pay for $10 -$15 an hour, non-set schedules that fluctuate week to week, no guaranteed hours and you do not get people that are motivated to do more then the bare necessities. Honestly it's a long, complex conversation but I see no easy fix as it's really really hard to find part time help that is competent .

All my friends worked there and we are still friends....my son is now a Grocery Manager there...he started at 16 too but he is making really decent money these days...I am proud of him especially with COVID.
