Mastercard and Instacart are running a limited-time promotion where cardholders can qualify for two free months of Instacart Express membership upon sign-up now through March 31, 2021. This perk is valued at approximately $20 since Instacart Express costs $9.99 per month. (might be best to wait until winter to join for free two months, if pandemic rules tighten, bad weather, etc)
With Instacart Express, you can benefit from faster delivery, no delivery fees on orders over $35, reduced service fees and more.
You can qualify for this offer if you currently don't have an active Instacart Express membership and haven't claimed this offer previously. In order to get two months free, you must add your Mastercard as the payment method. Any U.S.-issued Mastercard that is accepted on Instacart's platform is eligible, excluding HSA and FSA cards.
After 2 months, membership auto-renews to an annual plan ($99/year). To cancel at no charge, see your account page any time before auto-renewal.

Celentano Raviloi $.99--I had to try twice to pronounce this one! So funny.
OK--I want to report that I found a product I thought was great at SR. Don't laugh--it is a B&B product:
the Lobster Bisque Soup in the fresh foods or whatever section. I tried it for the first time last week and was really impressed with it. It was on sale for $2.49 at the time (half-price I think). I'll certainly be buying it again next time it's on sale. It was really delicious.
Also, finally made my first trip to the new Aldi that opened near me! Some surprises -- you need $.25 to get a cart--they are all linked together. You get the coin back when you return the cart. You have to bring your own bags or pay for bags. And--this one is tough--no cash unless it is exact change. Luckily they take credit cards. Now that I have those things down, I'll be more prepared next time. Got some great stuff. Went especially for the frozen veg. and got the broccoli florets for $.89 that someone here told me about along with some others. As well, cream cheese was $.79--least I usually paid in the past was $.99 at SR (not recently)...they have brie for $3 for 8 oz. and a bunch of other good stuff. The half and half was indeed $1.55 as someone else mentioned...a great price. The store was super clean and very spacious. I will definitely go back there. Thanks, everyone, for detailing the Aldi information.

One did open here, but about 8-10 miles away. Haven't gone.
Is it a Bring your own bag store?
THe 2 Aldi around here aren't all that big and I just didn't like them. Fruit was sold in bags, not that much of a variety of items, etc. But, haven't been back to either of them for well over a year. May have changed. Disappointed. I did buy some things, just found a box to put them in.

Do we need to bring our own bags?
The problem I've encountered a lot with Lidl is that they run out of stuff on sale very quickly. If you go there in the evening you are out of luck.

sorry for the OT
sorry for the OT
Don't worry about any "OT". We are all grocery shoppers and appreciate the info!
All the Aldi's near me are new construction or former Bottom Dollar and all are nice, freshly remodeled locations. Aldi's quality of food is great and they offer a no questions asked refund policy. We are in our in town Aldi twice a week, selection is lower but we get the bulk of what we need there now as it's quick and cheap and good. Lot's of seasonal in/out items that if you like buy them quickly and stock up (Like the sourdough stuffing when that comes out, OMG is it so tasty!).
Lidl to me is equal to Aldi, I do have a Lidl being constructed in town now and only 1 other store a bit aways that we go to once in a blue moon.
FYI both stores are competetors in Germany with each other also.
Planning on going back to the Aldi--I desperately need a new digital scale. My very expensive scale from Germany (of course) stopped working right. I had it for many years, so I guess it just died. Anyway, in the ad starting Sunday, they have some kind of digital scale for around $9. My husband had bought me my current one, and the receipt in the box was around $55. Quite a difference.
Well, back to any ShopRite news? I don't have any right now.
