I grabbed a Thor Lite for $249.00 and don't regret getting it over the more expensive chip versions (base-max). 3DS is very smooth at 3x resolution and the higher end system by the same manufacturer...

The price difference kind of depends on the model, because you can see the 8+128GB and 16+512GB models for both are pretty close in price, but the 12+256GB has like a $20 difference. Not sure why...

I would go with a Thor over a modded Switch. The ability to emulate PC games is emerging and really opens up you gaming options. With that said, I have a Switch OLED…but I wouldnt make it my primary...

I went with 1TB for PC games. 512 would probably have been fine. But I don't need an SD card now. Those are expensive.

8GB memory is enough for console emulation. You want 12GB+ if you intend to do PC emulation.

The Thor is much more than a "3DS" replacement. You can use the lower screen for emulating older consoles and the top screen for 16:9 or 4:3. The Thor Lite is fine for console emulation of this sort....

Thor Base also has the S8G2 processor; only the Lite has a different one. Yeah I didn't include the Thor Lite in the comparison because it's not sold on Aliexpress and honestly the price...
