Vizio was bought by Walmart but is still guilty of Automatic Content Recognition (ACR): The TV takes digital screenshots of your screen every half-second

Practically every single major mfr of TVs spies on you like crazy, so this isn't really useful in terms of deciding whether or not to buy. You're going to buy one, one way or another.

The key is what you do once you buy it.Plenty of options there:

1. You could not connect it to the internet and run an Apple TV, Roku or wahtever stick you prefer

2. Or you could just run a DNS adblocker, and on top of that, block all known Vizio IPs. Combined with a DNS adblock, it not only cannot connect, but it cannot obtain new IPs via DNS lookups to try to get around that block.

I recommend both, but if you're an LG person, #1 isn't optional.
