pop the disc in and after it installs, start the game and it will ask you if you'd like to update the game and it will include both DLCs

be aware, it is backward compatible with old saves. however, once you overwrite old version save with new one and then downgrade the game, it will not work. keep backups just in case

no, the upgrade will happen through gog and has nothing to do with steam

For real, it was under $5 just a month ago on PC. Like all day every day.

My gaming backlog is so backed up anyways. I've got to play Ocarina of Time remastered and probably Metroid Prime Remastered before I even think about replaying The Witcher 3 again... but with better graphics.

I have Witcher 3 Wild Hunt on Xbox One. This upgrade thing doesn't apply to that, right? The only way I might be able to get the upgrade is if I can install the game on PC though Xbox Play Anywhere and then upgrade it that way?

On switch you can delete the first game (if you have it digitally) before downloading the remaster in order to free up space
