be aware, it is backward compatible with old saves. however, once you overwrite old version save with new one and then downgrade the game, it will not work. keep backups just in case

pop the disc in and after it installs, start the game and it will ask you if you'd like to update the game and it will include both DLCs

  • Separate Download: The upgrade is not an automatic patch; you must open the Nintendo eShop on your new console, search for the remastered version, and download it as a separate application.
  • Digital Owners: Digital library licenses qualify automatically once the store page goes live on launch day, September 29, 2026.
  • Physical Owners: If you own the original cartridge, you can claim your free digital license through the system store once the remaster officially releases.

Thank you for the link, but I've read that this site sells you access to an account with the game registered to it rather than a key to redeem on your account. Do you know if that's the case?

some third-party sites do sell "accounts" but this listing clearly states that it is a "Game license sent to your email within minutes of purchase"

there is no remastered version for switch 1, just switch 2 - sorry bubba

I'm usually fine with purchasing from key shops and you're right, their website does say that. But I'm going to let someone else be the guinea pig on this one. I wanted to purchase it for someone else (I already have it), but I'm having my doubts on that website. I think they're going to email someone else's account and password. Too many shady reviews for that site. I would love to be wrong, but I don't think so.
