The 1986 release WAS for the disk system.
The U.S. cartridge release wasn't until 1987.

Wow, old memories. One of the first things I remember coming to America. Was a dirt poor child of 2 chinese graduate students. I worked as a paperboy, rented this game, and played the hell out of it over a weekend. Funny how when you were young, had no money, but still had way more fun than now being middle aged, money aplenty, but nothing feels as fun anymore. It was a harsh childhood with hardship and endless amount of studying, but yet miss my childhood...

I sank a lot of hours in this game back in the day on my Nintendo disk system. Funny how the mind remembers things differently when you get older. I would have sworn it was a NES/Nintendo Entertainment System.

I wouldn't play this game with touchscreen but it's doable using a backbone controller.

I would tend to agree. It's difficult enough of a game with traditional physical controls, let alone virtual touch screen ones.

Played it for 5 minutes. Got clapped by the giant bar and gave up.
