I like smaller formats for dress and field watches. Wearing a 38mm Hamilton field as I type this. But a dive watch is supposed to be chonky.

Now, it might be too big for your individual wrist or personal style, but that's you. The 41mm is a great "goldilocks" dive watch size that will work well for the vast majority of men, and a lot of women too.

If you bought to enjoy you're good. If you plan to resell at some point the Hamilton has a big advantage. The superior movement with an 80 hour power reserve is nice.

Just depends which you like better. Personally, I have 3 Hamiltons and 4 Seikos in my current rotation. I prefer Hamilton for field watches - it's what they're famous for. Seiko has more more history and provenance (and IMO better designs) in the dive watch segment. So for affordable divers, I prefer Seiko. For dress watches, it's a tossup because both have great options.

I'm not a fan of the metal cover for the knob. But I see a screw in the middle of it . I wonder if it's removable and/or if it would look weird without it

This is small for a dive watch. Most dive watches are on the 45mm territory. Planet Ocean to name a few are on this bracket.You must have a tiny wrist. If such is the case try the 38mm ladies dive watches.
