*Honestly it does make sense being I'm betting with inflation / pricing the way it is, and RAM prices being what they are, few people are likely upgrading newer machines and just as few people are building / buying new builds as compared to a few years ago. Providing an upgrade path for countless existing PC's and still supporting DDR4 may make a lot of since, snatching a part of the market share that otherwise might be sitting on their hands.

My situation is; I purchased a MSI prebuilt (normally I build) at Walmart for $400-ish on clearance, I believe in late 2023. Had a i5-13400F (I misspoke before with the 14 gen), a 4060, and 16GB of DDR5. I knew the socket was a dead end but couldn't pass that screaming deal either. Since then I've mildly upgraded to a 5060 (selling the 4060 for more than I paid for the 5060) and upgraded to 32GB of ram (plus some SSD's of course). Would love to upgrade the CPU but the i7's and i9's, new at least, cost far more than they are worth...IMO at least.
