This is completely wrong information, the watches don't use the a chips you're thinking of iPhone.

Get the 4. Last year when I watch 3 ultra came ultra 2 dropped to 498$. That was a good price for last gen. 600$ is still a lot.

Actually you are wrong. The chips are derived from the iPhone chips, and the ultra 4 chip is based on A20. The sensors refresh rate is indeed much higher.

Picked up 2 of Ultra 3 from Costco for $419 each. It showed up for that price in Costco app (for warehouse stock). In store price was still 799 but they had to honor price showing up in app.

WatchOS 27 runs extremely slow on my Ultra 3 and Siri is useless because it is slow. I would not buy this watch at this point.

Just now. Three colors. Two not available at my warehouse, the third, out of stock. The person claiming the lower price. A week ago, Costco offer $ 360 off on the purchase I'd two. He probably got that deal, with the lower price. $ 599 less $ 180:discount per watch, is the $ 419 he claims. The catch is, you need to buy two. Still a great deal.

The Ultra 3 runs on the S10 SiP - derived from the A16 CPU (5 generations ago)
The Ultra 4 runs on the S11 SiP - derived from the A20 CPU
I did the comparison myself and bought the Ultra 4. The ability for audio intelligence makes this a much more future-proof option.
The $600 price of the Ultra 3 is not insignificant, but still quite pricey, I would expect the Ultra 3 at this point to be in the $400-$500 range.
