Yeah, I don't recommend buying LG anymore (as an owner of 2 OLEDs in my home and like 7-8 computer monitors). However, I'm not sure if any other TV is any better. Some of the dark patterns caught me, and I was careful and remember being confused as well. So consider who you support as well. If they conduct fair and honest business, or if they're trying to trick you. If they're trying to trick you, imagine what they're doing when you're not looking or aware!
A workaround only solves the action right now, not the intent and future actions should the company gain more marketshare and power.
Worth a watch, and if you do decide to buy this TV, keep it offline. You can still upgrade software offline if needed.
