Buyer beware. This unit is 38,000 BTU which is the same as the discounted 36" griddle that they manufacture for Walmart. This is compared to 60,000 BTU for their regular units. Blackstone claims that the lower BTU griddles have a more efficient heating system but my experience with both is that the 60,000 BTU unit gets much hotter. When I had the 36,000 unit the meat would not sear and would steam more than brown. Just sharing my own experience.
