You're not getting downvotes for a different opinion, it's for being snarky about it. I actually agree it's better to own physical media but people have different opinions about benefits and tradeoffs. So what, it's not a big deal if other people buy digital copies. I have a ton of 4k blu rays, but $20 for the convenience to stream all of Next Generation on any device I want for however long Fandango is in business sounds like a good deal to me.

Spending money on a temporary at best license (unless you buy it from CBS/Paramount) is a weird concept to me.
Every time you go to the movies you are basically doing the same thing. You are renting the movie to watch once during a specific two hour window. If you buy/rent this from Apple then probably the worse case scenario is you are getting at least a ten year rental for $15. A ten year Paramount subscription would be about $2000. Probably more because they raise prices every year.

Can this be purchased without subscribing to Apple TV? I seem to just see a screen of info about the show but no purchasing option. I'm using an Android phone.

The real problem with apple is you cant watch or dl on android devices. On pc you need the apple tv app, and not all tvs have the app.
