I toured Europe in 1982, and I was happy with the experience, but I wonder if those who book vacations on islands are as as happy with their outcomes. I was happy to make personal contacts with strangers that I spoke their language.

Adding to the previous message, I ask, "What exactly do you expect from arriving at an island very far away from most other places?" Do you expect anything about comfort or lodging? If so, why do you expect anything at all from people that live there their entire life? Do you expect them to serve you in some way? Or do you just plan on taking your kit from the airport to the beach and having fun on the waves?

I see one direction as expecting service from the people there, but maybe one can enjoy the location without bothering or affecting the people who inhabit the place. I still think that those who arrive and enjoy the place should pay the people who own the place.

Highly recommend. Tahiti is unbelievable. Especially the other islands besides the island of Tahiti.
