Ordering 10 of these using a few Prime accounts to leave at my local Food Bank. Every year during the Holidays we always run out of peelers. Because of this, it slows down our process of cooking the food early Christmas gift for the food bank from me!

Save yourself the hassle and just get a Swiss Kuhn Rikon. It's nearly the only thing chef's use in the industry, and they're cheap. The orange one is currently on sale at Amazon for $5.75, and it's a steal at that price. I'm sure someone will comment that it's over 5 times the price of the one in OP, but it's still less than $5 more, which is well worth avoiding the hassle of these cheap peelers popping blades off constantly. Trust me, I've been a professional chef for 20+ years, and the Rikon is ubiquitous in professional kitchens. https://a.co/d/00c4Atis

Shoot the price dropped by 5 cents. Now I'll have to return the one for $.98 and buy this one. You'd think the hassle isn't worth the 5 cents, but a nickle is a nickle. The real benefit here is the cost to Amazon who refuses to process price drop refunds even ones that happen overnight. Oh well, prosperity here I come.

Rainspire rated 4.7 (with over 1500 ratings) at $.93

Swiss Kuhn Rikon rated 4.1 at $5.75 with an alarming 12% rating it 1 star due to the blade rusting almost immediately. Rainspire had 2% 1 stars

seems like the Rainspire is the better choice based on both cost and quality

You can't go by Amazon reviews, especially now that Fakespot was shut down. Most Amazon reviews, especially for these cheap chinese products, are fake. It's a well known issue at Amazon, and Fakespot was a website that used AI to analyze the reviews to weed out most of the fake ones. Unfortunately Mozilla shut down Fakespot a few months ago because it was too expensive to run.

This "Rainspire" is a cheap Chinese-made no-name peeler. It's more than likely made in the same factory as all the other Temu/Aliexpress peelers. The Kuhn Rikon has always been made in Zurich, Switzerland from Swiss steel, and still is. Kuhn doesn't stoop to the level of buying fake reviews, but their peeler is widely regarded as the gold standard. Ask any chef what peeler they use, and 99% will say a Kuhn Rikon.
