These things are tanks. I bought a Brother DCP-L2550DW on super discount ($80) from Office Depot in 2019 and it still works great.

I got in a previous deal and it's GIGANTIC. I was not prepared! Working great though except the wireless printing from android phones takes a lot of fiddling

Nah, I beg to differ. I purchased a Brother MFC-L2700DW laser printer in "new" condition on eBay back in 2017 for $75 and it was working fine till it broke down on me out of the blue in 2023. I eventually replaced it w/ a Brother MFC-L2750DW.

The 2750 is a better model! It should last longer.

Brother all the way. We use mostly HP at my job. They never work well with 3rd party toner and many have to be reset regularly because they randomly start printing multiple pages of gibberish. The few Brothers we had never gave us problems. We only replaced them to try to standardize toner and we now regret it.

I bought a Brother MFC-9700 around 2003 at "half price" around $300 and it's still going strong. I can still find toner at a good price. I thought about replacing it when there were compatibility issues going from Windows 7 to 10, but it works fine when I connected the USB to my router and that let me make it available to other computers on my network. I said I would replace it with a similar Brother model, like this one, whenever it dies but it just keeps on trucking.

I know this is not really relevant to this specific deal, but I wanted to share my experience with the brand's reliability and continued support of toner and drums after 20 years.

Can't go wrong with a Brother. Back in early 2000s had dealings with HP and realized what scumbags they were, their support conned an elderly friend into buying a new $55 ink cartridge for an obvious technical problem with the printer, then when it didn't fix it they tried conning her into buying another printer (which used different ink) with a silly discount. From my first Brother printer onward I have purchased nothing but Brothers for myself and others I help with tech. They just work, use third party ink and toners without any problem (this might be changing recently), and you basically have to go full "Office Space" to kill them. Just bought a family member this model to finally get him off of an ancient Brother inkjet that refused to die, he bitched about it for a while since he couldn't scan newspapers "in color" but that's settled down and he's accepted the simplicity and economy of toner. Brother does have some odd glitches with at least their iOS software, my 5850 locks up when I send a large PDF to it from my iPad, still trying to sort out why that is, will print from a Windows machine or send it in smaller batches to workaround.
