Good price if you need one now and don't have access to the LG partner store. I'm holding out for a lower price. Hoping the spyware controversy and the C6 being a mostly meh upgrade from the C5 means the discount will be even better later on.

I could see that being the case this year for the 65.

Costco has it through 9/13/26 for the same $1499.99. They include an Allstate warranty so you have 5-years of coverage. No, that doesn't include burn-inshake head

Yeah, the secret listening is pretty frightening. With no way to turn it off.

Disconnect it from the internet after initial setup and update and use an apple TV.

It is still listening to you. If it ever gets Internet access, it will just send the backlog of voice chats to the server all at once. They could also, in the future, partner will telecomms and get automatic wifi access through the provider's router without user setup. That may not apply to you specifically, but it's an example of why this type of technology is dangerous. I bought an LG G6 -- the original one from 2016 with an MSRP of $7,500. Fantastic screen; I was 100% sure I'd never buy another brand if I needed to upgrade. I am now actively avoiding their products.

That's a lot of chats to send if it ever somehow gets access to your PW protected router without being actively permitted (not sure how that would work and seems highly criminal). However if you prefer to let Samsung or the Chinese (CCP partnered) brands spy on you instead then that's your choice. Not sure if that is any better.

Alternately, you can get an old used plasma and bask in it's 160 nit glory and let your ATV or Chromecast spy on you instead (Roku is awful now).

Sorry to not be more help with the way the world is now. Corporations (foreign or otherwise) are more important than people remember. Apparently we voted for that. Enjoy.

Oh they spy on you regardless. Paying is just another revenue stream for them but they get your info either way. You cant win and are just a helpless pawn.

Anyway using your TV as a dumb monitor and utilizing an ATV for more limited spying is the best we can do these days since we have surrendered even the most basic rights to corporations, capital, orange people, ICE, NSA and other pervasive surveillance, etc.. Hey but we are totally winning these ME wars and are super safe in our (insanely violent and dangerous) crony state. Enjoy. As they say in a democracy you get the government you deserve so thanks all!

It's hilarious that people think that apple is not doing the same thing

People worried about being spied on but they're always around electronics 😂
