That said, I don't know how reliable these are as steam cleaners. The little greens (same without steam) have been down around $50-60 on big sales.

I'm not sure if it's made in China, but I have reason to think it's made in the U.S.
You can call them and also see the replacement parts offered directly . Genuinely the Big Green machine sets a standard for quality of appliances that exceeds even stuff like Miele vacuums (which just has a bunch of engineering, but not as much meat on its parts).
The Big Green is manufactured decidedly different from other stuff branded "Bissell".
I'm not sure if it's made in China, but I have reason to think it's made in the U.S.
