This is a Moka Pot. It makes coffee. Yes there is steam pushed through coffee grounds. But it's not PRESSed so it's not esPRESSo. However it is at such low pressure you don't get as much of the coffee oils and flavors.
It's probably fine as a Moka Pot. The coffee it makes is better than drip though. But these can be MUCH harder to clean.

This is a Moka Pot. It makes coffee. Yes there is steam pushed through coffee grounds. But it's not PRESSed so it's not esPRESSo. However it is at such low pressure you don't get as much of the coffee oils and flavors.
It's probably fine as a Moka Pot. The coffee it makes is better than drip though. But these can be MUCH harder to clean.

Bought one last December. Alternately use with drip (12 cup), electric syphon (4 cup) and automatic espresso machines(single serve). Easy to use and clean. Decent two actual cups of coffee.

The word espresso isn't derived from "pressed" in the sense of physically pressing the coffee. It's from Italian espresso, meaning roughly expressed / made to order. The moka pot isn't failing to make espresso because it doesn't have enough pressure in some abstract sense. It's that the entire hydraulic/extraction system is different. Still makes good coffee though.
