Would this be worth upgrading if I only have 1 gig fiber? I use a Nighthawk RAX42v2 right now, I've had it forever.

I wouldn't bother upgrading from the RAX42v2, especially with only 1 gig fiber. The BE6500 is still dual-band, so you're missing one of the biggest benefits of Wi-Fi 7: 6 GHz and 320 MHz channels. I'd wait until you actually have devices that can take advantage of full Wi-Fi 7, especially 6 GHz.

Great observation. RT-BE82U is about $157 on Amazon right now. For another $7 you get a slightly faster CPU (2.0ghz vs 1.5ghz) and 1 extra 2.5GB LAN port. I'd get the BE82U.

Who needs this... just use ssh access and Claude to fully customize your router features beyond the stock web api.
