The only thing holding me back is the 320-nit screen. I can deal with the other cons (older Zen 3+, no backlit keyboard, etc.). Oh well, I guess it's for the best considering these tablets/laptops are being phased out by Minisforum (from the rumors I've heard).

Yeah, I was eyeing the non-SE model that went OOS. But I read somewhere that there's no more support for this product line so perhaps I dodged a bullet there.

I would buy this if this was the other Minisforum V3 configuration for this price. The other model has 32gb ram and the AMD Ryzen 8840U and 780M Graphics and same size screen with keyboard.

You can't deal with a bright enough screen but can look past other key specs? This nit madness needs to stop.

I bought this the last time it was posted last year. I would like to give a stern warning, stay away. When it works, it is literally the dream machine I wanted. Screen is excellent, keyboard and trackpad are good, and you can do some low-to-mid level gaming on it. However, it's constantly having software issues. Windows is constantly resetting its BIOS. Sometimes it will turn on instantly, sometimes it will take 10 minutes. I've researched the issues and it has led to bricked devices for others. I'm anxiously waiting for the day it will not turn on at all. And of course its a Chinese product so don't expect a lick of support.

I can vouch for your warning. I own two of their mini PCs, and both died after about a year and a half. I reached out to customer support via email, but I never got a response.

You don't wanna buy ram in this market anyway.

This is an older chip but it might actually let you play some games pretty decently. Pretty good price for the current market.

Purchased the 32gb version a while back, agreed I was a dream machine when it worked. When issues appear you are SOL, non-exixtant support or warranty.

Hopefully you get a fully functional unit, if not be prepared for all things people are complaining about as most of the issues appeared after a short time of use.

Consider this a gimped ASUS flow that could stop working at any time. If $500 vs $1,500 is worth the risk for you, grab a Minisforum refurb. The V3 is better, but it's out of stock and still presents the same manufacturer problems. Customer support isn't bad, but you'll be on the hook for shipping even under warranty.

Edit: The V3 isn't out of stock. There's a $150 off code: V3150.
