This looks awesome. Might have to try it out. We're an Osprey family but I might have to try it out. Thanks.

Just a heads up, but this series does not offer the typical Pelican lifetime warranty. It has a pretty low one actually.

The price of these has been continuously dropping. I expect they'll be discontinued soon.

The advertised price is roughly what it's worth.

It's just a suitcase.

Says 14.4 x 10.6 x 22 but I think 9" the the max for the smallest carryon dimension on many airlines.

I bought one of these from B&H for the same price in May. I used it for 3 months straight on numerous flights and road trips all summer and it still looks brand new. The bigger wheels were good for dragging it over gravel and there are handles everywhere to make grabbing it from any angle easy. I had no trouble with it fitting in the overheads on any plane. It's definitely not a replacement for my hard pelican, different use case entirely; but I do like it better than a normal carry-on roller.

FYI most intl flights have carryon weight restrictions, usually 15 lbs. This weighs 7.5 lbs ⚠️

Yes, but I can count on one hand the times that I've had my carry-on weighed for an international flight. Actually, I think it happened twice to me. As long as it's not a huge bag, it's a pretty remote possibility on a major carrier. The budget carriers might be a little more stringent to try and squeeze extra revenue from people, though.

Good point though -- that's not lightweight.

It's actually gone up. Was $130 when I bought it on the deal linked below. I love it, btw. Perfect blend of hard/softside. Two wheels aren't for everybody, but it's my preference.

  • Cannot exceed 22 x 14 x 9 inches (56 x 36 x 23 cm) including handles and wheels - from AA page.

Delta, United, American, Alaska, JetBlue all have the 9" limit. I'm guessing people use it and hope airline doesn't make them put it into one of the baggage sizers?

Lack of front compartment or pocket killed it for me...as a carryon item absolutely essential for a frequent traveler

I believe they are. They came out with a 4 wheel version.
