I tried this monitor. The only other high refresh rate monitor I've used was a BenQ nearly 8+ years ago. I have to say I liked the BenQ more. This didn't feel like it was doing 160hz, but a lot has changed and there are so many new features that complicate getting smoothness out of your monitor (frame gen, DLSS, VRR, etc.). I felt like there was a lot of blur happening still, I would get a lot of tearing even when fps was below my refresh rate. It was very frustrating getting this exactly how I wanted. But I did notice my Rocket League play was better than a standard 60hz monitor.

Have an LG 27" 4k monitor ($450 paid at BestBuy) for 10 years and never let me down but wanted to get another one a 34" wide screen 4k but they are too pricey

Do you need to use the remote to switch modes? I think my friend's remote came broken or something. I couldn't say if this is a good deal or not because of the amount of issues regarding it properly outputting at the right resolution.

If you used frame gen plus vrr up until recently that actually made stutter and blur and tearing worse. Because the original vrr was not designed for framegen timing.

The brand new nvidia pulsar is vrr but with support for both framegen and backlight strobing. In fact it forces the strobing while also doing vrr. But has built in support for framegen.

Based on what you said about having all of those on . Thats probably the common mistake you made was having vrr and framegen on at the same time.

Its still broken on non pulsar monitors.

It requires some new timings on the hardwares firmware side on the nvidia chip on the monitor. I think nvidia also made a deal to put the firmware inside of some tvs that dont actually have the chip but I doubt they gave them pulsar since that requires strobing. Which does exist but I think the tv controls that in its own settings.

i switched to a 27" 1440 monitor after using 4k for a while and it made my eyes bleed. 4k so much more clear and easy on the eyes. (i don't game, only productivity)
