I use this Action4 for bicycle riding year round in Las Vegas and never had this one turn off due to overheating. I've owned this camera for almost 2 years, I ride bettween 2-3hrs at a time, and the hottest day I rode so far was 123F. Many of the other people I ride with have every model of GoPro from the 8 to whatever the current model is as well as every Insta360 camera version, and they all overheat and turn off within about 20mins during the summer and even sometimes in the spring and fall when it is only in the high 80's, but they work fine when it is below 70F outside. The Action 4 and 5 are almost identical with nearly imperceptible differences in video quality so there's no reason to get the 5 over the 4. The 6 is slightly better but not worth $100 more so this is still the best deal overall for a DJI action camera but $199 is the normal price that is sits at the majority of the time. Every once in a while it jumps to $229, and occasionally it drops to $189 or $179 and one time for a few days it dropped to $159 about 2 months ago.

I bought this camera on a similar deal a while ago. No issues with it, except that it overheats if its mounted on a windshield. My hero cam overheats faster doing the same thing.

What electronic wouldn't overheat mounted on a windshield?

Capacitor style dash cams are better in high heat environments compared to ones with lithium batteries

Yeah GoPro makes a camera for this kind of use now with headsinks on it. Go check it out!

This is a very nice Camera for a youtuber or cyclist that like to document there rides. I've had mine for about 6 months and it works flawlessly.
Battery life is good and it works great with their Mic.

My VANTRUE N4 Pro and E1 Pro both work fine in Las Vegas heat year round being parked outside the whole time. So did my old DOD LS460 dashcam. However, not a single action camera of any brand will turn on in the summertime if I leave it on my windshield where my dashcams are located if my car is parked outside.
