Worked for me.

Updated Maths on how I think the reward is only a good deal for small checks:

Options for a $10 bill:
$5 off $10 Reward, then $1 cashback
Vs
Using gift cards bought at .65 on the dollar (ie $3.50 off $10)
Vs
Using your banked cashback

$20 check
$5 savings + $3 CB
vs $7 Savings with GCs
vs Using banked CB

$30 check
$5 savings + $5 CB
Vs $10.50 savings with GC
Vs using banked CB

Personally I try to avoid banking CB bc I want to use gift cards mostly, but weigh your options. Seems like by the time you hit $30 the scale tips toward just using GCs even if you value CB as cash (which I wouldn't)

Worked for me. Only seems like it's worth it for a $10 ish bill though. $5 off $10 Vs Using gift cards bought at .65 on the dollar (ie $3.50 off $10) Vs 20% cash back Once you hit a $20 check that's $5 savings vs $7 savings vs $4 back
Now this is what you call breaking down the numbers. Not sure who you are but I want you to do my taxes next year.

You neglected to mention that $5 savings at $20 also gets you $3 back because you would have to pay the remainder ($15) with a cc.

I would use the $5 off $10 at a fast food or coffee place and basically pay $4 after $1 back.

If u spend over $10, u get 20% cashback on remaining amount. So, if u spend $20, that's $5 off $10, plus 20% of $10, ends up being $7 off $20.

Can't combine with existing credit, though. I'd rather get the $65 cards at Costco for $100 credit (which is active right now, btw).

Is that how it is working now?

When they changed the terms, I emailed support to request the extension of the old system and they wrote:

"We clarified that the new checkout flow will be streamlined and you will select either inKind Cash, inKind Cash Back, or a promotional offer per transaction—but not multiple together. "

So I have assumed if you used a reward offer you could not use GCs and you would not get the 20%

Just used $50 off $150 offer and I got 20% cashback on the remainder balance that was paid with CC

Interesting, maybe I misread and you can use either
Reward, gift card, or your Cashback balance per transaction.
But you can earn cashback regardless.
thanks 👍
