The details of this system seem to get the iGPU wrong every time it is posted. The 7640HS has the 760M, not the 780M.

Is this overkill for a Home Labs server? Or just a server running containers to play around with.

Or would I be better off getting one of those old Dell Optiplex SFF for the expandability of the PCI?

I would recommend you get a sff if can be had for less than 200. It's a bit more expandable and probably more reliable. I do have 2 different firebat units I haven't put to use they. 😭

I would take this anytime. The energy efficiency of these Ryzen CPUs makes it a blast for a home lab.
