I really dislike the Momofuku brand. Everything is overpriced and honestly pretty average. They don't have their own ideas; they just rip off other people's concepts.

agreed,
if you live near an asian grocer, they have hundreds of better condiments under $4.63/pint.
"sweet and savory" means bland. you want something with more heat and/or umami in it.

I am a fan of Momofuku restos. That said, I'm sorry to agree with the comments above. Their sales items are mediocre and overpriced, and you absolutely can find better quality/flavor/price at your local Asian grocery store.

While I don't disagree as to other products tasting better for less, momofuku's stuff is decent with less to no bad ingredients. Notice how this sauce has no emulsifiers (like xantham gum), MSG or other flavor enhancers, or preservatives. Compare this clean ingredient list to those more flavorful Asian brands and you'll need a chemistry degree to read their labels

I assume this is intended to be put on after cooking. The only advantage with that is it won't cause flare up when cooked on a BBQ.

I can buy condiments for cheaper. This is not a deal in my opinion.

Yah, we don't support David Chang, and trademarking the name 'Chili Crunch"

Spot on! This stuff is meh at best.
If I wasn't such a cheapskate I would throw out the bottle I already have instead of letting it sit unused in my refrigerator until I get tired of looking at it.

Btw, as someone with a :chemical degree: speaking to someone who loves "Doctor Death: Liquid Death" should I explain to you the "CHEMICAL PROCESS" used in stevia extraction?

If it doesn't have MSG it's not good. Its the food of the gods

I hate it when people say "gmo free" too. Its hard for me to buy things that are proudly anti-science.

No, I have a friend named Claude who would do that better if I cared, but thanks for the offer.

I eat foods with MSG, and drink beverages with stevia, HFCS, sucralose...

The point I was making is that Momofuku does fill a hole where if you are someone who is not wanting a bunch of added stuff in your ingredients list, you can use it. They are filling that gap they've identified in this market.

Looks like politics and personal animosity has taken over instead of actually judging the sauce for it's flavor.

My kids really love Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce from Costco. We put it on a lot of stuff including grilled meats. Is the flavor profile similar?
