I've also had Chubby Skewers when I was there, and the membership perk saved on spice+charcoal fees and 30 cents on each skewer.

You almost seem like a salesman. I had the opposite experience at XPot. It was over the top for decent quality meat. Definitely not worth the price of admission.
I've heard similar things to your review with Xpot from a friend of mine, but they also mentioned that they've dined there prior to their v2 AYCE concept and that the pictures I recently took from my visit looked much better than the Xpot they remember.
So my question to you is whether your review was based off their v1 or v2 ayce experience (with the ayce nigiri+lobster+steam pot + dim sum carts), or prior? (I can only speak on the latter). These are pictures from my experience so lmk I'm curious if yours was the same: https://imgur.com/a/0bmERam
I was there in Vegas in late July for BSB concert and tried Xpot there for my first time.
FWIW I'm not affiliated with the company aside from being a silver tier customer (having spent probably $2-3k+ in the past year in their restaurants), and unfortunately I'm in SF and only close to their Chubby Cattle restaurant (which I'm starting to get tired of), but excited for their Chubby Tan restaurant to open in SJ!
As you can see on https://i.imgur.com/PnmMB9B.png, the $28 membership would save you $60 from dining once at Xpot!
