This is the microled version that originally sold for $2000, probably didn't sell well, and isn't offered on the Fenix 9. This is for people in the niche category of wanting the fenix screen with highest brightness and best viewing angles at the expense of higher cost and shorter battery life.

Fenix 7 user here. I have not upgraded because of limited new features.

If I were to upgrade I might try a Amazfit Balance 3. If you configure it to brazil you get blood pressure monitoring.

If I didn't already have a watch this might be the winner. I like Garmin. I never use the maps. Like a thought I would when I got it.

There was also a $10k apple watch when it first came out. You are not the intended target.

Huh? $1250 past gen would be your winner when the BRAND NEW Fenix 9 is available? You're considering Amazfit as well? You make not logical sense at all.

Fenix 8 is already confirmed to be supported until Q1 2027 and probably beyond.

Had the amazfit balance ultra and will say for the price it's a great value. Much smoother ui than garmin and all the features you could want for the most part. I think Amazfit is moving up. I did return it and kept my Fenix 8 solar because I missed my MIP display but don't knock Amazfit

Garmin better get on the ball with AI, I've tested my Garmin against my pixel watch and heart rate is the same as wrist and chest strap. I was surprised. The Google Health AI data mining stuff destroys the Garmin app. If your into splits, VO2 max, MAF training, building custom HR or pace workouts Google Health can build those via AI conversation. I can tell it to create a 5k workout with 5 minute warmup, with heart rate between 125 and 140 and alert me when I'm out of range. It will load that up, just hit start, that's a killer feature for me, or I can ask, chart my VO2 Max over the last 6 months and compare to others on my age group. Amazing info, I don't see the Garmin being a good fit for most anymore and I was a user for 10+ years. Imo, good luck
