Questions that need answers👆. My best kitchen knife did cost this much. What am I missing out on by buying the $30 knife?

You can get some bargains with great steel 14C28N for under $19 - and it has a bearing that lets you open and close like silk with the tip of your finger.

I got the FLISSA Pocket Knife with 3.35" 14C28N Steel Blade, Liner Lock Folding Knife with Wood Handle for EDC from walmart

https://www.walmart.com/ip/FLISSA...7768407710

The 14C28N is going to be twice as tough and corrosion resistant, where the S35vn will stay much sharper for longer

Haven't bought anything Cold Steel since it was sold, and don't have any plans on changing that.

LOL on the MSRP:

You missed some great knives then, and no one, and I mean no one, ever believes the MSRP.

The Cold Steel Republic for $120 on Midway was the steal of the year, especially the year of rhe 250th.

I don't like this knife for the lock. Its just not me.

The best knives for any budget are the Bezubin on Amazon in 14C28N. They go everyday for $30, and can be had for $16 on sale. They are as flickable as any Bugout with a hell of a Tanto.

That's very much debatable. I only buy from companies that respect customers. "GSM Outdoors" is not among such companies. Cold Steel is now just another revenue stream, among many, including SOG and Crapillus, for equity firm-owned GSM. Hawking products based on what people knew or thought they knew about Cold Steel's brand.

Ultimately, though, the blame goes to Lynn Thompson, for selling himself out, and selling us out, too.

The Republic was made by White River. No one is questioning their quality or heat treat, and you could get a bushcraft/camp knife 100% made in the USA from steel to sheath for $120.

You take the scales off with the intro to the Declaration of Independence engraved.
You missed that one.

You: "The Republic was made by White River."

With the Cold Steel name on the blade and the profit going to an equity firm.

My US-made Buck works great.
